Christopher Young's score for The Grudge was sensational, so I'm going with that.

Bram Stoker's Dracula

The music leading up to the title card gives me goosebumps.

I'll be coming back to this thread later tonight.

But I will say for now, one of my favorite pieces is the theme for Cronenberg's The Dead Zone by Michael Kamen. So beautifully haunting.

Surprised no one has mentioned The Exorcist yet. Does that not count, since Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells was a previously existing piece before the film came out?

There are so many great horror scores, some of my favorites outside of the more well known scores ( Jaws, Halloween, Psycho, etc) are:

Dracula (1979) - John WIlliams
Fright Night (1985) - Brad Fiedel
Psycho II - Jerry Goldsmith
Halloween III: Season of The Witch - John Carpenter and Alan Howarth
Horror of Dracula - James Bernard
Day of The Dead (1985) - John Harrison
The Fog (1980) - John Carpenter
Jaws The Revenge - Michael Small
The Thing From Another World - Dimitri Tiomkin
Bride of Frankenstein - Franz Waxman
