Post your all time favorite horror film scores. Music is so important to movies, especially to horror movies. So this should be fun. I love listening to horror movie scores with the images from the movie playing in my head.
These are a few of my faves: 1. Halloween (John Carpenter) 2. Suspiria (Goblin) 3. A Nightmare on Elm Street (Charles Bernstein) 4. The Thing (Ennio Morricone) 5. Christine (John Carpenter) 6. Tenebre (Goblin) 7. Phenomena (Goblin) 8. The Evil Dead (Joseph LoDuca) 9. Evil Dead II (Joseph LoDuca) 10. Army of Darkness (Joseph LoDuca) 11. Psycho (Bernard Herrmann) 12. I'll be coming back to this thread later tonight.
But I will say for now, one of my favorite pieces is the theme for Cronenberg's The Dead Zone by Michael Kamen. So beautifully haunting. Surprised no one has mentioned The Exorcist yet. Does that not count, since Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells was a previously existing piece before the film came out? |
