I don't see how it matters, really. It;s still gonna come out the same day, how soon we get the pre-order doesn't change that.

In short:
Who the funk cares?

Really? Can we have one of these threads pop up without this exact response every time?

I agree. What's the big deal? Especially for those that never get/got a chance to see said movie. Heck, I hope they start announcing the BD when they announce the theatrical release.

I'm hoping this one can repeat the hilarity of the first film. One of my favs.

Also, to the person complaining about the preorder up before the film itself. If you have ever been on the board, you would know this is common now. No one is forcing their hand on you.

I'm approaching this cautiously. The weight of expectation can be a terrible thing. I'll have to keep in mind that I first saw the original about ten years ago and my initial enjoyment of it may have been influenced by "certain substances"!

Anchorman is one of my favorite comedies of all time. Sadly the sequel looks painfully unfunny.

I thought the sequel was better than the first. Not by much, but by a slight margin. Can't wait to get this on blu.

I'm not sure how the sequel could look unfunny to some...it's the same characters played the same way in a slightly different situation. Same type of laughs, no reason not to like it if you liked the first.

Does the first movie pick up after the first 15–20 minutes? My spouse and I have tried watching it twice, get that far into the movie without laughs, and then shut it off.

I haven't even seen it yet (going tomorrow) but I know I will pick it up on Blu; love this type of humor.

To be honest, you are correct, it isn't a "big deal", but it smacks of desperation, a cash grab, and is just unnecessary. If they offer you a goodie for pre-ordering it (a ticket, bonus case, day one pre-order swag) then I am fine with it, but these things are getting earlier and earlier and it doesn't seem to have a point. If the film is ready, they know when it will be released on Blu, then just prep it in advance and release it to theaters AND Blu-Ray at the same time.

I'm skipping the theaters for this one, but I am sure I will pick it up on blu ray.
