Default A Life Less Ordinary

I wonder if this film will ever come out on Blu Ray

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119535/combined

A little obscure and one of Danny Boyle's more humorous works. Dark humor to be sure, but I really liked it and would love to have it on Blu Ray someday. Not sure it's in high enough demand, but I hope it happens one day.

Although I like black comedy, I'm not sure the humour in this worked very well. Still, I did enjoy the film.

I didn't mean to characterize it as a black comedy, just that it had some dark humor in it. In that regard, I thought it worked fine. In general, the movie felt kind of fresh to me. It was Danny Boyle making a quirky, kind of funny romantic comedy. It's offbeat for sure, and I think that's what I like about it the most.

Fox also has the Danny Boyle title, The Beach. I'd buy both if they put 'em out. A Life Less Ordinary would be especially nice, since the DVD is non-anamorphic.

i've very much like to own this film on bluray.

im still hoping that itll end up being released some day. the Region 2 release had a couple of extras while the US release only had the trailer.

would be spiffy to have a new hi-def release with those extras and maybe deleted scenes.

It really is great. A quirky little comedy that seemed to be pretty misunderstood by critics. Of course its ridiculous.. it's supposed to be. It follows its own rules and the story is good, so what's the problem? Not to mention a pretty great soundtrack.

I hope demand is out there for a quality transfer to Blu-ray.

I wish. Love this flick. Considering it wasn't a big hit a the box office, it's hard to say if anyone sees a sufficient demand to warrant a blu-ray. Even then, you wonder if the original transfer is up to the standard it should be for blu. I'd hate for them to do it without a proper transfer, but here's hoping.

I too would love to see a Blu-ray release for this... now that Danny Boyle is a much more popular director than he even was then, I think it makes sense to give it a release. It's a really great film from Boyle. Maybe it could be released concurrently with his Steve Jobs biopic starring Christian Bale?

I'd love to see Criterion pick this up.

Been checking for this for a while and seems it's available in Germany... I just spent £12.25 on this and I'm not really sure what I'm expecting, part of me thinks I'll just end up with a DVD or a really bad transfer or something but I'll report back here when I get it!

That's a shame, at least it isn't bad and it'll probably still be the best version of the film I'll ever have the chance to own.

When you read old posts of yours and think, 'What was I on?'

Anyway, I'm surprised that this still hasn't been released on Blu-ray. Great film.

Well, it tanked at the box office, and I have to wonder if anyone thinks it's a sound investment to push for a quality transfer and re-release. I would imagine that's the hold up. It's not as if there is a cult demand for it exactly. I think those of us that like this film and would pay for a BR are pretty few, unfortunately.
