Germany Inferno (Dario Argento)

Inferno will be released by Camera Obscura.
"If you're really into mouse-killing-action (and who isn't?), you can always try your luck with the INFERNO blu-ray we will be releasing in August.

It will be a 2-disc set, with one blu-ray for the film, plus a DVD for the Extras (and there will be lots of them).

The disc will feature German, Italian and English language tracks along with German and English subtitles."

Just wondering if this was still scheduled for an August release given the UK one put back to September?

Disc produced by Camera Obscura will be distributed by Koch Media because they hold the right for the movie.

Anybody buy this that can offer a review? My favourite Argento film so I'm sorely tempted.

I believe that Michael MacKenzie fella over at land of whimsy recently mentioned his is on its way, so I'm sure he'll be posting a thorough comparison accordingly. From the caps HotRats linked above and a couple others I've seen floating around, it seems to share the general color scheme of the Arrow and French releases but is slightly less cropped and filtered than Arrow's.

Very handsomely packaged. It's funny that I saw this thread crop up because I'm currently listening to Keith Emerson's score.

I have just ordered this. The UK/US blu-rays both suffer from an image that is fairly heavily cropped/zoomed in.

This is arguably the best of the BD's for this film. It's not zoomed in like the others. The colors are more natural which may not be correct since this is supposed to be a fantasy film like Suspiria with wild color schemes. The BU disc might be more accurate color-wise but it's zoomed in. This also has some nice extras.

I personally find whether something is zoomed debatable unless I see it compared to a theatrical print, which doesn't happen often. It could just as easily be the correct framing and the Koch disc being opened up.

I really was expecting this disc to be the be all and end all of the saga but obviously not. I sold the Arrow disc on but as to what to replace it with, I'm still undecided!

You don't see any DNR in this release? Looks a lot softer.. better than the UK, but maybe not better than the US..

BU: http://www.landofwhimsy.com/hdcaptures/infernobu1.jpg
DE: http://www.landofwhimsy.com/comparis...fernokoch1.jpg

And in this shot, the US looks better;

US: http://www.landofwhimsy.com/hdcaptures/infernobu20.jpg
DE: http://www.landofwhimsy.com/comparis...ernokoch20.jpg

So its all really pros and cons for each..
