Don't see a reason to buy this until my HD DVD is truly unplayable...I still have 3 HD DVD players. Until they are non-functional, then the blu-ray version will be part of my library.
I just recently got my hands on a like new Toshiba XA2 player and finally got to listened to the DTS-MA audio...amazing! The lossy DTS & the stereo PCM is actually pretty well done too. Love this concert! ![]() |

Day one for me. Ready to retire my DVD of this fabulous show.
I also expect we may see some more Eagles this year on Blu.

IMO, yes....and no....HFO is 1.33:1 aspect ratio, but, it includes Don Felder on guitar. He and the rest parted ways and he's not on the Melbourne show. However, the guitarist on the Melbourne disc is fantastic. The lossy DTS audio on HFO is excellent. Melbourne fills all the pixels and will have lossless audio with a great selection of songs, including solo offerings from Henley, Walsh, etc. Hope this helps?

Personally I prefer the Farewell Tour show. It still gets more play at my house than any of my concert blu-rays, and I have quite a few. To me it is more of a "rock concert". I'm a big Joe Walsh fan it has a lot of his solo work and a James Gang song as well. Has some of Don Henley's solo work as well. IMO the Hell Freezes Over disk is more laid back and "intimate", the Farewell Tour "rocks".
They both sound great. |
