I recently purchased a Roku Ultra. Yesterday I was getting a blank green screen but the audio still playing after loading up The Magic of Belle Isle in Netflix. I exited the movie and loaded it up again and no more blank green screen. I found out that I did not have the latest Roku software update installed even though I thought the latest update was downloaded and installed when setting up my Roku for the first time, and so I downloaded and installed the latest Roku software update for my Roku Ultra, hoping it fixes the green screen issue with Netflix. Also today when when opening up Netflix in my Roku, Netflix would immediately quit back to the Roku Home screen until I did a system restart and now Netflix seems to be loading up successfully. Does this sound like a defective Roku Ultra or are these issues software related?

I bought a Roku Ultra a week ago, and I've had a few issues with mine as well. Your device may be having issues with HDCP. Try unplugging it, waiting a few minutes, and plugging it back in. When I first connected my Roku Ultra, I was getting numerous dropouts with Netflix and Vudu, but after disconnecting it (unplugging the device and disconnecting the HDMI cable) it seems to have fixed the dropout issues, which, if I'm understanding it correctly, was handshake issues with my receiver.
However, my current problem with my Ultra is that Amazon Instant Video plays the audio and video out of sync on certain videos. So far, my solution was to bypass the receiver and connect the Roku Ultra directly to my TV, and use an optical audio cable to connect to my receiver. My receiver is a 2010 model Onkyo, so it doesn't support 4K. I originally just set my Roku Ultra's display type to 1080p so that it could go through the receiver, and I think that may have been contributing to the out of sync error. After connecting it directly to my 4K TV, it still had the out of sync problem until I changed the display type to 4K with HDR, and now it seems to be working properly. It did take a few tries before it recognized the HDMI input has being HDCP compliant. I'm coming from an original Amazon Fire TV, which has worked flawlessly since the day I got it, and so far, I'm not too impressed with Roku. I wanted a single device that would play Amazon, Netflix, and Vudu, but now, even though Amazon appears to be working on my Roku, I connected my Amazon Fire TV back up and am using it for Amazon videos, and may continue to watch Netflix on the Fire TV and just use the Roku for Vudu. |

I'm also having problems with my Roku Ultra. With hardwire connection,I keep getting buffering issue even on HD Netflix. I don't have any problem playing UHD Netflix on both Pana UB900 and Sammy 8500 wired the exact same way. I have a constant 300 Mbps download speed.
