Default Just Desserts: The Making of Creepshow

https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/j...blu-ray#/story

If you have the UK DVD or Blu-ray of Creepshow, you've been able to see the outstanding 90 minute making-of documentary "Just Desserts" for a few years. Unfortunately, WB had no interest in porting over this in-depth doc when it brought Creepshow to Blu-ray in 2009. To make up for the unfortunate fact that studios really don't care much about always giving fans a great package, the doc's director Michael Felsher has started an Indiegogo campaign where people can pre-order an individual Blu-ray release of "Just Desserts: The Making of Creepshow" with exclusive bonus features.

If you haven't seen the doc, it's well worth checking out. It's crammed with interviews from major players in the cast & crew and features behind-the-scenes footage shot on set. I'm a huge fan of Michael's work on bonus features for great companies such as Scream Factory and Synapse Films, but his long-form docs have always been my favorite. "Just Desserts" sits alongside his "Monster Squad Forever!", "Thrill Me!: The Making of Night of the Creeps" and "Swallowed Souls: The Making of Evil Dead II" as one of the best behind-the-scenes docs I've seen.

Unfortunately, I already bought the UK Blu-Ray specifically for this doc, so I'd have to see what other stuff he was planning before thinking about paying for it a second time! For those rigidly against imports, it's good, it's in the vein of similar ones like the ones on the DVDs Dawn of the Dead/Day of the Dead, or the "More Brains" one on the UK Return of the Living Dead (which has a standalone DVD release here).

In case anyone doesn't actually read the indiegogo page, this is a pre-order in the same vein as The Dead Next Door. By pre-ordering through this page you'll get some exclusive content, but from the way the listing reads, I'm assuming this is coming regardless of the indiegogo outcome.

I didn't get that impression at all based on "This campaign is get funds together so I officially produce and release my exisiting documentary on the making of George A. Romero's CREEPSHOW called

JUST DESSERTS: THE MAKING OF "CREEPSHOW"

Only available overseas, this documentary will finally be made available for North American viewers on BluRay with a host of new extra features as well.

Look for more details and announcements as the campaign progresses.

The goal is to have this out before Christmas of 2015! "

making it sound like he needs the funds to release it at all. It's badly worded, though, so maybe you're right.

Anyone pre-ordering the BluRay here will receive an additional insert with a booklet containing rare images and liner notes, as well as a poster of the newly designed cover art (to be revealed soon)
This phrasing Lead's me to believe this will be available everywhere. For starters, he's calling it a pre-order and not a fundraiser to help get this made, that to me sounds like he's already got things lined up to sell them online around christmas or next year. People that pre-order just help fund the project and get a small reward for their assistance. Also of note, The project is set up so that he gets all of the money pledged regardless of whether he hit's his goal or not. That to me says he has faith that he'll recoup the expense to produce these with or without funding but is just looking for help along the way to offset the costs in advance. I could be wrong of course, but it makes sense in my mind to go about business in this manner. The Doc itself is already completed and ready to go. He likely would just like a bit extra for the new material and then to cover the costs to press the discs, purchase cases, produce art, and distribute them. His $10,000 goal sounds about right for an initial limited print run of these.

I bought the SE dvd on release (still own it lovely slip) and the SS blu ray. So to buy just the docu it would need to have some extra's like commentary and extended interviews, a masking of Creepshow 2.

The campaign has less than 2 weeks to go, but more supplements have been announced.

The Blu-ray will feature the following in addition to the Creepshow documentary:
-Audio Commentary with the Director
-Extended Interviews with Romero, Savini, and more
-An exclusive episode of Horror's Hallowed Grounds focusing on Creepshow
-The exclusive Blu-ray debut of Scream Greats Volume 1: Tom Savini

Getting the Tom Savini Scream Greats alone makes this easily worth buying.

Those extras just convinced me to double-dip even though I have the UK BD. It would be great if they were somehow able to include the Savini Letterman appearances collected on the German DVD of The Prowler.

Amazon shows it as Region B. Is it, or is it Region-Free?

Thanks!

Have no clue, but I seriously doubt it; otherwise, Fangoria or whoever owns it these days would have maybe released it themselves as a standalone. It's probably from the original 1" video master.

In any event, it will be an upgrade from the VHS release. I know it was released on laserdisc as well, so if it looks as good as that, it will still be more than acceptable.

Scream Greats was on the Arrow Dawn of the Dead BD release.
It was included on disc 3, which was a DVD and was at least equal quality to the LD, which I still have. I doubt the interview portions were shot on film.

If it's that important to people willing to hand over cash to someone, why not import the UK release?

Hardly worth getting imho. For me anyways since I'm in Canada and after the shipping and exchange rate + maybe customs charges it will probably cost me around 50 bucks. The extra bits they're adding are cool but I'd probably only watch them once. Anyways, I have the UK CREEPSHOW release which is good enough
