Skyward Sword would be interesting to be sure. I am holding out hope that we may see The Wind Waker HD get a Switch release at some point.

Windwaker on the original GameCube and the HD remake on WiiU was more than needed. I am so happy to see Skyward Sword get a HD upgrade. Such a beautiful game that was hidden behind awful SD resolution. So excited!!!

That must be why the system was such a flop

It was a flop because it was a confusing set up (re-using Wii controllers but also having a new gamepad with screen controller), had a terrible name (WiiU made it seem like a Wii add-on instead of a new console), and was terrible to program for 3rd party titles.

It flopping had nothing to do with the generally great 1st party Nintendo software on the system. The sales of those same games or their very similar sequels on the Switch reinforce that.

Nope. Sure didn't. The best games it had are coming to Switch anyways. It flopped for a reason. A console needs more than just a couple of good first party games to justify the purchase.

If it has an option to use a standard controller I'm in. If it's joy-con motion control only, hard pass.

I like both depending on what the game I'm playing requires. Swinging the control around is something I never got to do with the Wii after all lol.

The name and marketing were definitely a factor. Outside of enthusiasts, many people seemed to think it was an expensive accessory for the Wii.

I'm glad to see that they knocked it out of the park with the intuitively named and far better marketed Switch.

Played on Wii but never finished as I found the motion controls annoying so Id buy it on Switch if regular controls are an option. Id also love to see Wind Waker HD& Twilight Prince HD come over to the Switch as well.

My Nintendo history includes N64, then NES/SNES Classic Editions, and now Switch. I missed out on a lot of games from GameCube, Wii, and WiiU. Any sort of remastered versions on Switch would be great news to me, considering the Virtual Console is not a thing on Switch.
