I've seen people pair PB13 and PB12 in the past and they've stated they had good results. I guess you could pair a PB16 with a 13 but I would think the 13 would limit what the 16 can do if you calibrate them properly. I would either buy another 13 or sell the 13 and get the 16. Again just my opinion.

Just get the PB13, not much difference between a PB16 and a PB13. Also, you already have Ultra Towers, you should have enough bass.

Nothing wrong with loving bass, its just that in the case he's going to quickly reach a point of diminishing returns.

I have a pair of pb13 and just recently bought a pair of pb16. All 4 subs run great together. I would recommend getting another 16 to go along with your 13. You can use your 13 as a nearfield sub. The 16 is definitely a better sub than the 13 in every aspect. It digs lower and louder. All the new features like the phone app and menu being in the front makes tuning a breeze with it. Yku won't be disappointed in the 16. I wish I could sell my 13s so I can have four 16s

I don't know, 4 subs seems like a bit of overkill to me. You said it digs deeper, what is the significance of that in real world listening since human hearing is limited anyway. So what if the PB16 has more output at 15 HZ, can't hear that frequency anyway. I've seen the numbers, Audioholics did a review of the PB16 with objective measurements, it shows that it performs slightly better than a PB13. Basically, the extra performance you get over the PB13, in my opinion, isn't worth the extra $500.00.

No you can't hear it at 15hz. But you definitely can feel it. I ran just my pb13s and thn just my pb16s to compare. And just by hearing and feeling I would say it's about a 20 percent more output. Not to mention the extra headroom. I leveled matched all 4 subs and and the pb 16s had 7db left on them before they were maxed out l.
