My pre-order of this arrived at my local JB yesterday, unfortunately they can't sell it to me until first thing Monday morning. It will be interesting to see whether the Blu-ray in this set is the 2010 disc, since there doesn't appear to be a local standard Blu-ray release of the remastered disc scheduled at this time.

I picked this up a short while ago:

and as I suspected, I can confirm that we got the 2010 disc for the standard Blu-ray in this set.

I thought they would have edited out the wires on the cover once they were pointed out.. surely they had enough time to do so.

What are you supposed to do with the Ultraviolet on this?

so.. to 'sum' up this release.. so far...

1. the cover shows the 'wires' - whereas the US version (Blu) has this image corrected.

2. The Blu is the old edition - and not the remastered 4K one ??

(added - I thought that we were 'shrinking' the OFLC rating' recently..... but on this it looks enormous !!)

Apparently the UK also got the older blu ray bundled with the 4k, not the newer blu ray from the 4k remaster.

Thanks for letting us know. I almost picked it up along with ST:Beyond UHD on saturday but restrained due to ugly cover art. I would have regretted badly.US Import for this.

There has been some issues being reported with the US release of Crouching Tiger and the Samsung player... some reporting it's not playing past the menu, others saying it's playing fine. It could be a certain batch problem? Might have to wait and see how the US is going to handle it.

Could be because the disc is a 100gb, where the other 4K ones tend to be 66gb.

Mine played the US release, but the player is making one hell of a racket in doing so.

Hi folks,

I just picked up my 2nd copy of this disc from JB Hi Fi this afternoon and have experienced the dreaded "Cannot play this disc" error agaoin. I have 5 other titles that all play fine.

XBone S is brand new and fully updated. Tried a reset and it didn't do anything.

So, will be calling JB to discuss options etc.

Least it's not just me. I have to get mine back to JB I think. Doesn't sound like there's much point trying another copy

Just tested my copy on my Oppo 203 and it doesn't work. I still have the receipt but it's from early November so I'm not sure JB would take it back... Is it a player issue or a disc issue? It seems too widespread...

I went into JB today and after some discussion I got a refund and bought a different movie. Previous salesperson was not all that accommodating during initial disc exchange but the sales rep today was very understanding and helpful.

I bought Lucy and Catching Fire today instead. Lucy is great PQ, but am v disappointed that I don't have a copy of CTHD.

From the posts above, the combination of bad disc batch, poor front cover artwork (wires), and use of older BluRay surely make this a non-starter in Oz?!!

I finally got around to testing my disc today, and like others have experienced, it doesn't work, which I expected to be the case. Since I don't need the UHD disc right now as I don't have 4K equipment yet, I didn't bother returning it. The DVD manager at my local JB and I agreed to exchanging it when new working batches start filtering into the Australian market, which could be months from now.

Just got my copy swapped at JB's. Here's hoping I have better luck with it when I get home.

Thanks for reporting this. I'll get my local to order me in a new copy from Sony/Universal so that I can exchange it.
