Default The Case For Christ (2017)

Based on the 1998 book by longtime atheist turned Christian apologist Lee Strobel,
this film is a dramatization of Strobel's two-year attempt, at disproving the claims of
Christianity when his wife suddenly accepts Jesus.

I have a copy of the book, and there's a lot in it which truly challenges our habit of
placing assumption above investigation. The film stars Mike Vogel as Lee Strobel,
with Erika Christensen as his wife Leslie. You can view the film's full trailer at this link.

Cheek fillers aside, Faye Dunaway looked fabulous at the Vanity Fair Oscar party last year. Can Hollywood throw her a bone and give her another great role already? She deserves better than...whatever this is.

I've also included a small clip of Strobel discussing the types of evidence he's often questioned about...

Excellent; for too long the Kirk Camerons of the world have made the faith-based film a laughingstock. This good easily go either way, but I have faith in it.

I believe in God or at the very least a higher power beyond our comprehension that watches us. I have zero idea what God looks like (either a man, woman, tentacle monster or whatever) but I do believe it exists.

What I don't believe in is Christian Propaganda films that berate others for not thinking like they do.

There goes Moviefan again, anyways, so this film is about what exactly about? Story about him being atheist becoming Christian or just him telling us how he was wrong and how we should believe in Christianity, both?

I would say a little of column A and a little of column B. I mean pretty sure he will share his faith as most Christians do. We really won't really know till it comes out. I would take any reviews with a grain of salt be it both mainstream and Christian and just see it yourself.

The problem is, it is a Pureflix film. They don't make films to have a conversation, they love to make propaganda. Hopefully the film (and book) is more of a story of his journey then telling us Atheism is bad and Christianity is good... like their God's Not Dead franchise.

Hollywood makes Leftwing Propaganda films all the time that berate others for not thinking like they do. Most tv shows do the exact same thing. Turn on CNN or MSNBC and it's the same thing. There are Super Bowl commercials every year that do the same thing. Follow Hollywood celebs on twitter and you will get their propaganda daily. They berate and hate.

Yep. A while back he was in all the scrolls and you could hardly leave your house without him performing some miracle. Dudes who actually saw him and talked to him hiking to and fro. Now he's like a hermit.

He's been gone so long nobody remembers exactly what he looks like or what he actually said-- some say this -- others say that. People argue about it.

I find it really hard to grasp the concept of someone who was once an atheist finding God. That just doesn't compute in my mind.

Oh well, I won't be watching this one but I guess I hope its target audience enjoys it.

Rumor has it that he's been retired for 15 years and living in West Palm Beach.

As a non-religious sometimes atheist, sometimes agnostic, I can only tolerate faith-based movies when they're made by serious artists. Which means this one gets a pass.
