Miike has no form. He is quite simply the most renegade filmmaker ever.

The themes of family and brotherhood are interesting. I always liked the low level Yakuza in his movies. Osaka Tough Guys is real fun. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0304457 |

I went to see this last night in Bristol and really enjoyed it; the long film time just flew by! It had a real Shakespearian tragedy element to it, especially with the twists. Some reviews have said the film is a slog due to the constant fighting, but it's the quiet times between the fighting that are interesting (not that the constant fighting isn't great, because it is). I'm not particularly familiar with this genre of film (being, mostly, a horror / sci-fi / fantasy fan), but I'd sure like to see some more in this vein!
