I watched the Koch Media Blu ray of Tanz der Totenkopfe (LOHH) last night and it occurred to me what a great choice for a company like Arrow to improve upon.
Sure, it's kind of a goofy story (subjective) but the execution especially the sets, lighting and score make this a great genre film for me. If a better print can't be found the German BD can still be improved by slightly sharpening and boosting the colors and contrast. I did that last night and was reminded how beautiful the sets and lighting are. Florence Tanner's room looked almost as beautiful as anything in Suspiria. What's really needed is to rid certain scenes with that dreaded green tint. It really creeps in when we see anything close to white like Tanner's over-sized collar. ![]() This is something we can't do with a few tweaks at home. |
