anyone seen this yet. it seemed to be one of those movies meant to freak out young kids trippin on lsd. i probably wouldn't watch this again, but it was pretty good, and it was definitly fun seeing some of these actors say some of the messed up lines in this movie.

"my reflection has delay-stiffler" ....... 2 minute silence from the bathroom......GUNSHOT. lmao i was in tears.

I watched this last night and I must say that although I saw some negative reviews of the movie, I actually thought it was entertaining. It was kind of long, but was bizarre and funny, two things that I really like in movie. It was fun just to see what new iconic actor would pop up in what seemed like every scene. I just kept waiting for the guy from the Pricess Bride to say "inconceivable". Kevin smith is in it too!

I'll probably buy it. There was a Blu-ray ad before the movie, but alas no Blu-ray release yet? WTF?

I though it was good. A little crazy but nonetheless not a bad movie. It was destroyed by critics, but honestly it is not a movie made for critics. I would recommend everyone see it. It is a very polarizing movie however, lots of people will hate it.

I really liked this movie a lot but I am also a realist and know that this is not a film for everyone. Richard Kelly films hit the same area as David Lynch, David Cronenberg, and Terry Gilliam, all of whom I love.

I would have to humbly disagree. The latter three make coherent movies over varying genres. One works well with dramatic thrillers, another with violence and horror, and the third with comedy. Richard Kelly makes incoherent and far-fetched movies that is far below the level of the other three.IMO.

I'm watching this right now on one of the Showtime stations. Wierd movie. Don't get it but it doesn't help when you have the volume low and can't really here anything. Alot of well known actors though.

Kevin Smith's cameo was the only thing I liked. Silent Bob in lots o' make up.

To me, this is one of the movies you enjoy just for the ride. It is much more enjoyable if you don't get distracted by minor points such as plot or character development.

I enjoyed the movie, but I really can't tell you anything about the plot (although I did get the impression that the director was not a fan of George W. Bush).

It definitely is a movie you should rent first.

Nothing is official yet, but there have been a lot of internal discussions about bringing Southland Tales back in a big way and in an expanded way. I think a few more ducks have to fall into place, things need to be solidified, but there is definitely a path opening to much more Southland Tales and we just want to make sure that we’re really doing it properly and realizing the full potential of the narrative. So stay tuned for more on the Southland Tales front, that’s for sure. We’re moving things in the right directions.

They're the sources of energy that Wallace Shawn created. Kelly mentions it in an extended interview with Kevin Smith on his SMoviemakers podcast.

Oh my, thanks. Is is indication for a scene change, or have something to do with the stages of liquid karma, as in literally?

I don't know where you are or if its the same in all countries, but if you buy the iTunes version of the film in the UK it is the Cannes Cut and not the Theatrical Cut and there is a lot of deleted scenes in it that explain quite a lot. I think that countries where its released on Universal the iTunes version is the Cannes Cut and if you are in a country where Sony released it, its the theatrical version. If you play the preview it is the first scene in the film at the family BBQ before the explosion and if it's a longer different version to the Bluray then it's the Cannes Cut.

It is quite a different film tone wise, Timberlake's narration is much more bitter and acidic and it's more obvious the film is 'his' story. I think that is the main problem as to why most people don't 'get it'. The film is literally all taking place in his doped out head as he sits bored shitless watching morons all day manning a gun off the coast of the country that he got injured trying to protect and now all he does is sit there viewing the pathetic idiots he was sent to save through a gun scope.

There are also 3 graphic novels that take place before the film actually starts that you need to read if you want the 'full' ST experience

Everyone I know, hates this film but it was so quirky... so different that I thought it was brilliant. It's underappreciated and a 'sleeper' IMO.

I'd like to revisit this movie. Best part, the very Lebowski-esque sequence...
