It has been a long and grueling few days but I am still not entirely certain I have a solution to my problem.
I am about to purchase a new 4k HDR 65" TV (either LG or Samsung, still debating). I have a PS4 Pro. I want to output the full HDR experience to my new TV. However, I don't want to give up my 7.1 surround on my VSX-92TXH. It is a great receiver but it sadly only supports HDMI 1.3a as it is quite old. I don't want to have to buy a new receiver just for 4k passthrough, but both ARC and Optical seem extremely limiting. But finding a comparable receiver seems upwards of a grand or more, which I'm not willing to spend. My tax refund can only go so far. I've researched the HDFury Integral but I'm not 100% positive it will do what I need it to, which would be take my PS4 and send the HDMI 1.3a audio to the full 7.1 lossless spec to the receiver, while sending the full HDMI 2.0a signal to the TV. Is there a way to do what I need done? I have exhausted my friends and expertise. |
