Nov.18.2016 - Soundgarden will release a massive box set for the 25th anniversary of Badmotorfinger including a Blu-ray Audio disc with a new 5.1 mix of the album and what will presumably be newly mastered videos of the three singles with the new audio options.

IIRC, the Superunknown set was around $80. Temple of the Dog was $100. Now this, listed at $150 here and currently showing $189 at Amazon. Love Soundgarden, but I haven't bought any of these and won't be getting this one. Seriously, do the studios think we're made of cash?
And who comes up with the ridiculous "collectibles" in these sets? Foil stickers? I thought Pink Floyd's marbles and Michael Jackson's chalk were lame, but do they actually think an adult collector that would pay over a hundred bucks for an album has any interest in stickers??? Fail. |

I liked it when Primus and Rush did a CD/BD combo only. I'd pick them up. I also heard that the new mix for Superunknown was clipped. Was that true?

Oh, it's so much cheaper than the Superunknown Digibook , NOT. Imo the Superunknown album is really a classic and should have had to have this treatment. I got the Superunknown Deluxe Edition and it is Ok, but this one, oh man. It cost so little to make. For 100 I would bought it.

Not necessarily clipped but definitely limited and brickwalled. The surround mix was more dynamic but unfortunately the surround mix itself was not very good. Adam Kasper has no idea what to do with vocals.

I received this on the release date and have slowly been going through the different things.
The box itself is cool and the logo thing does spin ( w/ battery's included as promised ) but it's kind of unnecessary. I haven't gone through the book yet. The band photos are nice. They would look cool displayed on a wall. Music: The remaster of the album sounds good to me. The Blu Ray music sounds weird, but I only have a $150 Samsung sound bar so I'm not sure how it's suppose to sound. Almost sounds like a demo through my speakers. The live DVD is awesome. This is the band while they were still fresh. Great set list. The first few songs are a little rough, but they warm up and get going. There's even a few special guests that join them on stage for a few different songs. I still have a few music discs to go through and one more DVD of different live songs ... As a fan of this band since the Louder than Love album, this box set is a great piece for my collection. For a casual fan, there's a $18 double cd set that has the remastered cd and some bonuses. |

Finally found someone who doesn't care about the Blu-ray in their set and they're selling it to me for $30. Heck it's the only thing I want, so I'm glad I don't have to pay $150+ for it. Will hopefully have it before next week-end.
