Hey folks. Sorry if this has been asked before. Does anyone know if the Star Trek TNG Complete series Boxset is in widescreen? I want to purchase and the Amazon site says that it's widescreen but blu-ray.com says 1:33, 1:35. Can anybody shed any light for me?
Cheers, Mark. |

From what I could see season 2 blu-ray was released with a 1.35:1 instead of 1.33:1 aspect ratio. I've also seen season 3 listed as 1.35:1 but can't confirm.
According to one TNG Season 2 customer comment on Amazon.com * inaccurate screen ratio: the aspect ratio is 1.35:1 and some scenes, including the Enterprise, disappear off the edge of the screen while the planet can be seen farther to the right. |

It's 1.33:1 as originally aired and shot. I don't know where this 1.35:1 comes from - I haven't noticed any cropping issues and neither Trekcore or IGN mention it (nor does here, for that matter), and Trekcore mentions a lot of other nitpicks with it.
