Blu-ray Ninja

So, I watched Glenn Close as Nora Desmond on youtube a bit ago. She was utterly incredible and I wish I could've seen that entire musical. I do get that releasing the musical, others and stage plays on BD could dampen attendance. What I don't understand is why they're not released later on after the run has ended. Many of us don't live anywhere near places like New York and London where we can get an opportunity to see these.
There's a host of stage plays and musicals I'd give my eyeteeth to see. It seems to me there is a real economic gain for these productions on blu-ray. Having said that, what are your favorite stage musicals and plays available to buy? I'm not talking about ones remade into movies. That's not what I'm looking for. I do have Phantom of the Opera performed at Albert Hall. I love that like crazy. When no one's around and I can crank up the sound, I enjoy the hell out of it. What are your favorites or recommendations? |
