I have a Samsung ks7000suhd tv (it's an 8000 in America) and I spent £1,150 pounds on it in a sale. It doesn't have 3D if that's important to you but it is a full HDR 10 bit panel and produces enough nits (brightness) to be a premium certified 4K TV. It produces great pictures but it is one of the cheaper Samsungs 4K TVs. Depending on your budget and how much you want really great pictures from 4K I'd say go for something more expensive. I would if buying now. The samsungs are brilliant TVs and if i was buying one now I'd get a more expensive Samsung. I hear the Sonys and Panasonics are great alternatives aswell.

I was a "Sony" man. No more.
Check out the LG 4k at Best Buy for 599.00 It was $1,000.00 before they lowered the base price. Amazing picture for TV and 1080p blu ray. but check out how to tune it first. Make sure you get the better HDMI cabls for both tv input and blu ray. Enjoy!! LG - 60" Class (59.5" Diag.) - LED - 2160p - Smart - 4K Ultra HD TV - Black Model: 60UH6035SKU: 5596601 |

Absolutely. Not sure what batman 2000 would call cheap but 4K TVs with HDR and everything else he is concerned about with the picture quality is not going to be cheap. Do you need HDCP 2.2.2, and if so are you considering Dolby Atmos later and are your audio components compliant for this as well? Plenty of things to consider, so Research, Research, and Research some more. Good luck my friend.

I am waiting for the 2017 models to hit the store shelves more, and then we should see even better deals on the 2016 closeouts. I am still not 100% sold on this Samsung model, but every time I look at the Vizio P series I always find myself going back to the Samsung because of it's more vibrant picture. I have seen the Vizio P in a home theater environment and I am a huge fan of the FALD, and the 128 active LED zones, but all I have seen from the Samsung 8000 is at stores. I am basicly done looking at stores, right now just waiting for some 2016 closeout prices.

can also vouch for the KS8000 I have the 60" and I love it.
I have had quite a few different tvs. None were 4k but higher end for the time. Samsung just seams to be high quality only thing I don't love is the remote but it is functional. |

You speak the truth. There are a few streaming apps that use 4K, but to actually enjoy the beautiful picture these TVs are capable of, the 4K player is a must. Right now there is not a great selection of 4K players available although the Samsung model is getting cheaper. The others are very expensive but the price will come down as this trend gains more fans. I hope.
