Blu-ray Samurai

I've reached out that point where I've decided to try stacking my movies instead of going side to side. I'm out of space on my shelves with no more room to expand. I've been on the lookout for taller shelves but haven't found any good solution. The only thing that comes close is the 93" Ikea Billy bookcase but I'd need 3 + extra shelves + shipping which would be probably over $1000.
I just stacked all of my movies and it opened up a ton of space but...I'm worried that it could cause damage over time. Blu-rays aren't super heavy and I'm not stacked super high but I do worry about it causing warping on the cases. Anyone done this and have any issues? I do admit I kind of like the look of it. It reminds me of the VHS days in some ways. It might be a pain to grab a movie off the shelf but I'd rather have the space than convenience. ![]() |
