My remaining wishlist of must have movies for blu-ray is actually pretty short, but this is one of them:

Back in the vanished days of broadcast television (the 70s and 80s), we had 1 local independently owned station, and 1 UHF station, and they would play a lot of movies at night and on weekends. Swashbuckler came up fairly often, and it was a guaranteed good time. I have the DVD, and it holds up well. This film could look amazing on blu-ray.

Love this movie. Every time a Pirates of the Caribbean sequel came out, I kept hoping they'd slap it on a disc with a misleading cover and release it to cash in, but never happened. It would be great if shout would get a hold of it.

As people talk more and more about the end of physical media, you start to worry that overlooked movies like this one will never see HD preservation. That would be a shame. All you Robert Shaw fanatics who love him in Jaws, need to see this:

I keep hoping this ends up with Shout Factory. They seem to be going through many of the 70's Universal films lately.
