Hello everyone.
My father is currently going on a overseas trip to America for a few weeks, and I've kindly asked for a few blu-rays. Unfortunately, I don't know where he can buy them, and with physical media shrinking, it maybe very difficult to find anything. I've created this thread so that it could help me (and possibly others) know where to find blu-rays in stores. If you are also able to tell me about where certain releases can be found (e.g. Shout Factory, or the casual Studio label), this will be even more useful. Sincerely, ThisKid. |

Also if you keep a lookout in the retailer deals section of Blu-ray.com and http://www.barnesandnoble.com there is frequently a coupon to be used there. Note without a coupon the price is going to be high at Barnes & Noble. Best Buy also has a decent selection in general with great prices, but has far less of the specialty labels than Barnes & Noble. Walmart has a very poor selection (mostly new releases by major studios) but often the lowest prices, and some crazy deals can be scored in their dump bins. Your dad will find a bevy of Criterion titles in Barnes and Noble, along with some other more esoteric titles not usually available in brick and mortar stores (but expect to pay full price on those).
Also, he'll find some region a Arrow titles in Newbury Comics along with some oddball titles not usually found elsewhere (again, not cheap). |

Unless you get your father to really scour used stores (which are dwindling anyway), he's not going to find anything cheaper than ordering on-line. So why not order the discs on-line and ship to where he is? That saves him the effort of shopping, saves you the trouble of your father accidentally buying the wrong movie, and saves you money to boot.
