Default What's that movie?

That you're always walking around the store with but never end up buying. For so long, for me, it was Braveheart on DVD. But now, it's The Punisher on BD. I just can't ever bring myself to buy it. I think to myself, "It doesn't even have HD audio, but then again neither does T2 and that has an audio track that good rival many other movie's HD tracks." I'm sure everyone has a certain movie the same as I do.

For me it's Cars. I've seen the HD trailers on other discs and the demos in stores and they look incredible. Light years better than the DVD version. But I have a strict rule about double-dipping and I just can't bring myself to have two copies of the same movie.

If you dont double dip then you are going to miss out on TONS of good movies....I could care less about double dipping, the upgrade is always worth it.

For me I guess X-Men movie, I want to wait out for them to release the trilogy, but who knows when that will happen.

Mines Cast Away. Passed on the VHS because I was getting into DVD at the time, and just never got around to getting it. Now every time I'm in Best Buy I think about it, but just haven't pulled the trigger yet.

Haha, I have a whole list of this stuff - movies I want, yet can't quite bring myself to buy for some reason.

Rescue Dawn, HP 1-2, Day After Tomorrow, Underworld, Superbad...

...who knows? I have no good reason.

LOL, this is a funny post but a great one. I have so many like this. I was picking up Full Metal Jacket, Goodfellas and Bladerunner for some time now. I pulled the trigger on Blade Runner Friday night at Target for $34.99 and finally went over to Circuit City and pulled the trigger on Goodfellas and Full Metal Jacket last night. Once I get a movie in my head, I eventually get it, just a matter of time because it "haunts" me and I cannot quite thinking about it....

"Hairspray" on Blu-ray. It's embarassing to even be seen carrying it. Some day I will see it. Some day.

Great idea for a thread though, really funny.

I upgrade as soon as it's available. You can sell the old one (the sooner the better regarding the price you'll get). I'll donate mine to a local library.

The upgrade is worth it. Once you have it, the expense is behind you and you'll forget about it.

There are many DVDs I'll not upgrade for: the ones I'll never likely watch again. But if it's one I think I'll watch at least twice again, it's well worth it.

EDIT: There is an exception: when the reviews and reports on the transfer quality are not too good. Like Shi mian mai fu (House of Flying Daggers). I'll wait for a better transfer of that one, so I guess that's my "one".

It WAS Day after Tomorrow, but once it was 13.99 on sale I bought it, now it's Live Free or Die Hard.

Mine is Troy.

I heard good things about this movie, and I have had it in my Amazon cart for over a month, but I keep passing it up. Maybe because after the Bogos I was only buying old Paramount titles and new releases?

Talking about it makes me want it.

Is this a must have title?

For me it is. One of the first 3 titles I bought. Must want - great video quality.

Yes, absolutely. Great PQ also for a WB release.

Not me.

My accountant would thank me if I had that kind of problem.

Does that mean that you are as hesitant as I am to buy any WB movies? I simply can't get over the Ocean's films, I had to twist my own arm into buying Blade Runner. And even though it got all of those five star PQ ratings, I was honestly a little dissappointed in it.

For the sake of everything that you hold dear, BUY IT ALREADY!!! If nothing else, you'll be beyond floored with the PQ and AQ! In all sincerity, it is unfathomable how much quality is packed into that disc. Sure, the story may not "blow you away", but it is still enjoyable.

It's Mr. and Mrs. Smith right now...and it will be for a long time until the price is down to about $10.

Since the holidays are over and there are no more HD DVD blockbusters on the horizon, something tells me the BOGO's are out of the picture for the time being, as well....not to mention a FOX BOGO.
