Universal Studios Tremors (1990)

Universal Studios Home Entertainment has announced another title from its catalog previously released on the short-lived HD DVD format: The 1990 creature feature Tremors will come out on Blu-ray on November 9 (strange timing for a horror movie, which would benefit from a pre-Halloween street date).

Special features include:

* The Making of Tremors
* Kevin Bacon Profile
* Michael Gross Profile
* Reba McEntire Profile
* Theatrical Trailers

Why is someone wasting their time with Tremors when there are plenty of more deserving movies that have yet to come out on Blu?

I agree, it's a horrible movie, but I love it and I'm happy it's coming out on BD. I just hope the transfer is any good.

Ya, jeez we haven't even had the 20th release of Star Wars on blu-ray yet....FAIL to you Universal.

I'd take Tremors over Beerfest, Ghost Rider, and other classics like Rob Zombie's Halloween...

Tremors was a DNR'd-into-oblivion piece of crap on HD DVD. Since it's Universal, the Blu-ray is almost certainly going to be the same.

What is or is not "more deserving" is a matter of opinion.

most of the Universal titles i have are beautiful. cant think of one thats "dnr'd into oblivion".
that being said, while tremors isnt really a GOOD movie i still love it and would definitely pick it up on blu-ray. probably day one.

Eminent domain! A favorite guilty pleasure of mine that I watch all the time. Reba is great in Tremors.

Great news. We should not complain of what is coming first and what is not. Once these studios see more BD sales they will release more in BD. Tremors is good and I'm going to get it. Love the first part more than the others.

But it is doubtful to come on blu for now. For example Cabin Fever 2 is listed on their website that it will be on Blu but I do not think Cabin Fever 2 will be released on Blu. The first DVD will only be on DVD.

I love it, it's one of my favorites! I have the HD DVD version of it, but it was heavily processed and has extreme edge enhancement. I hope the studio does a better job with the BD.

This had a terrible transfer on HD DVD. EE as thick as I've ever seen. I hope for better on Blu.

How is Star Wars related to Universal? George Lucas decides when SW comes out, I doubt even 20th Century Fox has much control of it.

Besides, you know when they do, all we're ever going to get are the "special edition" versions with Christensen ruining the end of Jedi with his bad acting. There'll probably be even more CGI additions after George goes to see Avatar, lol.
