Default The future of airline travel could include a 45-inch ultrawide OLED screen

quote

"The centerpiece of the ergonomic seat is a 45″ ultrawide Astrova Curve OLED display. Able to conveniently sync with passengers’ personal devices to play media, the huge display would represent the very first CinemaScope (21:9) format display to be used in commercial flight. Panasonic Avionics and Collins Aerospace say that with MAYA, immersion is key, which is why the display features personal headphone-less audio."

Apparently there's a new "Concord" style supersonic jet due to launch in 2029 or 2030 onwards. Perhaps we can shove all these fancy OLED wrap around monitors in there for the rich to enjoy in their Business and First Class cabins at $5-20,000 a flight.

Modern planes imo seem severely dated when it comes to the infotainment systems and most companies won't upgrade until decades later if they can so that they can absolute rinse the assets use and ROI.

Plus, i think if you have ever been in an economy section, it quickly becomes apparent luxury items and so on are the last thing they would focus on spending on even if the majority of the passengers are stuck in that section. So this tech is for private jets when being kitted out and the rich people sections.
