I posted this in the official LG OLED thread and no one responded, so perhaps I just ask the general tv audience...
I was wondering if anyone could comment for me. I currently have a Panasonic 60" ST60... GREAT TV, got it for a great price several years ago, learned to live with the input lag for gaming purposes. I have been looking at the OLED65b6p since the prices are coming down with the release of the 2017 models... however I see a HUGE price discrepancy online. Big box stores are generally selling for $3,499 while it is available at multiple online retailers for $1,799-$1,999. Is there some catch? Am I missing some sort of caveat about buying at these stores? I feel silly asking.... I actually got my ST60 at Paul's TV online, and everything went smoothly. As a matter of fact I had TWO of them delivered with damage... one had a cracked screen, the other had multiple dead spots in the lower right hand corner, and they took care of everything for me each time. If I had my choice I would just pick up locally, but these online prices can't be beat. I just wanted to make sure I'm not looking at "too good to be true" scenarios. I hope this was an ok place to ask this question.. if not please direct me to a better place. Thanks! Here is an image of the online prices I am seeing. ![]() |
