Default Netflix's Unsolved Mysteries

What are your thoughts on the new Unsolved Mysteries series on Netflix?

I think it's been really good so far. I like that they kept the elements of the original theme music even though it's not exactly the same as the old series. The show seems to work without a host/narrator because Robert Stack can't be replaced and I think Netflix realized that. I just wish there were more episodes than six.

I’ve seen 2 episodes so far and I like it. But I miss Robert Stack.

Yep. Im enjoying it but ive been watching the old seasons on Youtube every day. My favorite cases were always the random true crime ones or the Missing ones. They just filmed them so well. Scary/touching/etc. Robert Stack was the man

For me most part I thought the cases got worse as the season went along. The UFO ep was the weakest for me too.

Not sure if it's true, but someone on Reddit claimed to be working on a season 2 episode and they said it would be out by October.

As for the show, I wish they used the old theme. But I don't mind the new version.

As for the episodes themselves, I watched 5/6 of them. Not sure if one is in French but Netflix messed up the audio for the remaining episodes when I skipped that one.

My favourite episode was No Ride Home. I feel like that's one that has the biggest chance of being solved.

Missing Witness and 13 Minutes seem obvious to who the killers are. But they seem to have gotten away with it.

Berkshires UFO was kind of boring. The shortest episode but still had a lot of filler.

Mystery On The Rooftop could be many things.

Yep, pretty obvious who the killer is, but to murder a woman and four kids, all 2 shots in the head, and two dogs. Dude was heartless and hope they find him.

I did see that the tip lines got a ton of hits already, so hoping we get some updates when they release the next batch.

Feels more like Dateline than Unsolved Mysteries so far. Since they're not doing re-enactments anymore, I wouldn't expect any ghost episodes or the like. Only halfway, but so far they've all been murders.

There's the alien abduction one, so they're not completely abandoning the more out there stuff.

Haven't watched yet but I always enjoyed the UFO and paranormal episodes growing up so I hope they do more of those if there is a season 2

I used to the love the alien episodes, but the UFO one is easily the weak link of these six mysteries. Man I hope they solve a few of these. That mother in the final episode seems like a total scumbag.

It does feel like longer segments than the old show, where we got like 4 mysteries a week.

The new version of the theme song works.

And while most will say Stack can't be replaced, when they brought this show back awhile back on Spike with Dennis Farina, I thought he did a decent job.

Also, before anything gets solved. My guesses, minus the UFO episode:

[Show spoiler]1. The best friend was the murder.
2. The creeper husband was the murder.
3. The dude killed his family and still alive somewhere, probably remarried.
4. Dude was a part of a drunken hate crime, maybe accidental, but clearly the cops were in on it.
5. Mom totally killed her ex and her daughter, the ***** must pay!!!

Honestly I thought the UFO episode was the best one.

I was reading Reddit and someone mentioned someone from a family that owns a nearby cafe/restaurant may have been involved and if the body was in a freezer.. it could possibly be kept in the restaurant's freezer.

I started watching it on Thursday. At first I thought Netflix was showing the old episodes, but then I realized it was a completely new series. I love that they kept the iconic theme music, and although it sucks that Robert Stack isn't doing the narration, you can catch a tribute glimpse of him in the background at the end of the opening credits.

If Netflix did get the old episodes, my ass would be on the couch for months.

They were on Amazon Prime. And since so many of the cases had been solved between then and now, most of the cases included "Updates" with what had happened since the episode aired.

I will have to check this out.

Does anyone know if Spike still shows the Dennis Farina ones?
