One group of players will control members of an elite Fireteam who pack state-of-the-art conventional firepower, from shotguns and SMGs to sniper rifles and more. Meanwhile, one player will control the Predator: a stealthy, acrobatic killing machine bristling with exotic alien technology such as the infamous Plasmacaster. As the Fireteam attempt to carry out paramilitary missions – annihilating bad guys and recovering important items – the Predator will be closing in, using its advanced vision mode to track and ambush its prey.

Predator: Hunting Grounds is being developed by Illphonic in conjunction with 20th Century Fox, and is currently planned for a 2020 release window on PS4.

There was no gameplay footage just a teaser but i'm already getting a good vibe on this so far might have to get this don't see too many good Predator games.

Always wondered when they would end up taking on this concept for Predator but tbh, i see it as a very small scale game in terms of MTX potential being them trying to sell players new Predator classes with slightky different abilities and maybe similar for the humans. Also possibly a map change at some point. Anything else might seem mismatched and excessive. There's a fun factor that could be associated to this style of game but not sure of the longevity beyond a few casual games here and there.

in AVP2 they had a game mode where there'd be one person who started off as an alien and as he killed more players they became aliens it was actually tons of fun lol

Odds are the success of the Ghost Recon Wildlands Predator missions possibly inspired this team to tackle this new project.

I bet the players who enjoyed that DLC will buy this new game from the 13th Team.

Not really into multiplayer games like this, but since it's Predator and the other players are still taking on AI enemies, they really got my attention.

So this is basically Evolve but you play as a Predator. Could be fun but I'm not the biggest fan of multiplayer only games.

Some game info:

We used Predator ’87 for a majority of our inspiration for the game. Which we hope the gamers can see from the jungle environment, but also in the lengths we went to behind the scenes. We researched the original weapons and actually recorded them being fired in heavily wooded areas to make sure the sound and reverberation of bounding around trees and leaves was as accurate as possible in-game.

We of course take ’87 and evolve with current day weapons and technology; we want the Fire Team to be able to be at the top of their game against the universe’s deadliest hunter. In addition, we actually tracked down the synthesizers used in the original score.

These are just a few examples of the level of detail the team is aiming for as we create Predator: Hunting Grounds. It’s been a childhood dream to work on a Predator game. The little kid in me that would play Predator in the woods with friends is beyond stoked!

Gamers will see this in little reveals. For example, we have tied Stargazer from the most recent film, then added some interesting backstory between the two factions. We cannot wait for the community to get into the game and see how we have brought it all together!

We created a system for the Predator that we call “Predkour” in the studios; think parkour meets Predator. The Predator has the ability to attack from above as well as on the ground, just like in the films. This meant we needed to create a system for the Predator to climb into the trees and move limb from limb, or structure. The Predkour system has really been the most challenging element to the game. We wanted the Predator’s movement from tree-to-tree to feel effortless and make you feel inhuman with your ability to bound around the map.

This also lends to why the Predator is in third person, versus the Fire Team’s first person. The third person view for Predator really allows the player to see not only the Predator, but also the paths available for the Predator to take; as well as hunt at the same time.

I didn't quite jive with the Predator moving around with that much agility and lack of weight to the character. It just seems so OP compared to the Fire Team you'll likely control even with 4 of you.
