Default 8-bit + FRC vs True 10-bit Color

A lot of budget 4K TVs feature 8-bit panels that use dithering to approximate the color range of true 10-bit panels, which is known as 8-bit + FRC (Frame Rate Control). My display, which is an LG 43UH6500, is such a 4K TV.

I'd like to know just how much better colors look on a true 10-bit panel relative to an 8-bit one that uses FRC.

I certainly can't find words that would adequately describe the experience you would have in person.

Since you're in NYC, can you get over to Value Electronics in Scarsdale?
Robert Zohn is the owner and a valued member here. Let him know you're a Bluray.com member. He has an AMAZING showroom.

That's out of my way, but thanks for telling me, mate.
