In 1939, 937 Jewish Germans are offered safe haven in Havana, Cuba. They depart Hamburg in high spirits, looking forward to their new life. However, after being denied access to Cuba, will the refugees find a new home, or be forced to head back to Europe? Based on a true story.

Peter Hunt (DEATH HUNT) directed this fast-paced action film, based on the best-selling novel by Wilbur Smith. Lee Marvin (THE DIRTY DOZEN) stars as a gruff, opportunist Colonel Flynn O'Flynn who enlists the help of an upper-class Englishman Sebastian Oldsmith (Roger Moore) to carry out his ivory smuggling operations in East Africa during World War I. When Sebastian falls in love with O'Flynn's beautiful young daughter (Barbara Parkins) the unlikely duo come to blows in the jungle but put their differences aside when forced to get their fortune past German occupying forces readying a battleship for war. Also starring Ian Holm (ALIEN)

Thanks for the info. I was thinking about picking up Voyage of the Damned on DVD, so this is good timing.

Never heard of either of these movies but after reading the synopsis I'm instantly sold. Love these types of films.

I've always wanted to see Shout at the Devil. Lee Marvin and Roger Moore in the same movie is too cool to pass up.

Hmmm...I wonder if this is where Shout! (at the Devil) Factory got their inspiration for the company name .

Boy, that Voyage of the Damned summary is atrocious, it summarizes the WHOLE story, through to the end. It ought to just set it up. I know it's a historical event, but the whole point of the movie is that it was largely unknown to people.

Thanks I didn't mean to blame you personally, just whoever wrote the summary originally. Good edit though

I must be really old because these are great films that I figured everyone had either seen or at least knew about. I was just brought up in a home with a dad who loved all kinds of movies so I got to see a lot of films that under other circumstances I might not have. I am very grateful to my dad for giving me my love of film. I just wish he had lived long enough to see blu-ray. He would have loved it.

Thank you for reporting spoilerish preview. I haven't seen the movie obviously (great cast, though) so I copy/paste synopsis from IMDB. This one is from Amazon.

Saw this at the movies..it is a pretty good film. This was one of THE first movies ever on home video, too. It was on a 2 tape Betamax, because they didn't run that long back then. Way back in the day!!

Shout at the Devil is a great adventure film. I hope this is the full 150 min version and not the edited 109 min version. A must own with a cracking fist fight between Marvin and Moore that goes on for a long time. Can't wait.

So based on this release as well as the Man Friday release, it seems that Shout might have a deal with ITC.

Here's hoping that TIMELESS or Shout can release

Raise the Titanic
Farewell my Lovely (1975)
The Big Sleep (1978)

Those would be pretty great since the old dvd's were fullframe..and I know that better masters exist around the world. I'd love a 2:35 version of Raise the Titanic!

I am very surprised (but happy) to see that "Shout at the Devil" is getting a Blu-ray release.

I own the atrocious DVD version of this 1976 movie so I am hoping for a significant upgrade in quality...and also hoping it is the uncut version of the movie.

This news has really made my day. I was just typing the names of some of my favorite movies in Blu-ray.com's search bar with all countries checked just to see if they were available anywhere, and when I saw this movie was slated for a US release, well - I am a happy camper.

The UK release of "Escape to Athena" is Region free. Another great movie.

I would love to see "Raise the Titanic" if for no other reason than the soundtrack is amazing.
