I used to have the old Paramount VHS of this. A fun Star Wars rip-off with some solid 3D shots. Will be getting this one, for sure.

This is sweet... but I hope they do a re-scan of the original negative. Getting a little nervous that there releasing it on DVD too. Maybe just a port from the original MGM DVD.

CRAP! That 3D lenticular cover is misleading. There is a 3D DCP... disappointing...

Major fail. No 3D = no sale. I've been waiting ages for this to hopefully hit 3D blu-ray, and here was its chance. Why? Why??

Yeah, I remember my dad renting this VHS for my brother and I one weekend when we were visiting (must've been 1986 or early 1987), and definitely enjoyed it, hungry as I was for anything remotely Star Wars-esque during that dark drought-period.

I was excited at first, then I noticed the 3D was for the cover, not the film

No 3D, no buy

Also, who the heck is Fries Film Group, obviously a company that doesn’t know what they’re doing.

O wow, I was thinking about buying a DVD copy of this a month or so ago. Now I'll just wait for the blu-ray in October.

It's Charles W. Fries' company that formed in the late 1990's after "Fries Entertainment" folded.

I don't think they've ever actually released a Blu-ray before now however, so it would probably be wise to wait for reviews first before buying.

I don't think so. It shows CAV Distributing at the bottom of the sales sheet, so that's a different distributor.

I've been waiting a long time for this one. I investigated some years ago and the producers were remastering it for a 3D DCP, that is now available. Why on earth this is not going to be released in 3D? There's no reason or logic. Sorry, but NO SALE for me. Hugely dissapointed.

For those who don't know, a 3-D DCP of this film is available. The only reason it's not being released in 3-D is because the publisher refuses to do it.

I understand the desire to watch it in 3D, I do. I like Jaws 3-D after-all, so I know that burning desire in your loins that is (Hopefully!) not related to any STDs. Let's be honest though, most people don't have a 3D TV or 3D-capable Blu-Ray player and they aren't really making them anymore at this point, so the ROI would be minimal for the company to release it in 3D. But don't you worry, if you want to see it in 3D, that will be a possibility as Alamo Drafthouse is committed to showing this and other films in 3D.
