Watched this yesterday. It was all fine but I won't be picking it up. It just felt like something BBC would make to put over the Christmas period on Boxing Day or New Year's Eve over something theatrical.

I saw it on Friday. Thought Maggie Smith was excellent and I enjoyed the humour but I absolutely hated the part of the ending at
[Show spoiler]the cemetery where she floats up into gods arms. It should really have ended with the funeral
. Overall, I gave it a solid 7/10.

Ah I thought that was a great scene, seemed to be dropping it's stern sordid exterior for a sappy ending and it stopped itself. It's just a shame the final two scenes following it felt a bit twee and sentimental, especially when they wheeled out the actual Alan Bennett and revealed the crew filming, again, it felt like something a TV special would do over an actual film.

Another recent Bennett adaptation, Allelujah, gets a UK Blu-ray from Pathe/WB at the end of the month.
