![]() ![]() “SAMUEL a professor of literature flicks at the University since the tragic and unexpected death of his girlfriend. Since then, he suffers a recurring nightmare in which a woman is brutally murdered by a strange ritual. When the same woman who appears every night in his dreams is found dead in identical circumstances, Samuel sneaks into the crime scene to investigate. There he meets Rachel, a young woman who does not know anything, but he claims he also dreamed of the murder. Together, we will make every effort to discover the identity of the mystery woman, plunging into a dark world ruled by the muses that inspired the poets of all time.” Jaume Balagueró (Sleep Tight, [REC]) directs his ninth feature, Muse, adapted by Balagueró and Fernando Navarro himself from the novel “Lady No. 13” by Jose Carlos Somoza. Filmax’s supernatural thriller, starring Christopher Lloyd, Joanne Whalley, Elliot Cowan, Franka Potente, Ana Ularu, Manuela Vellés and Leonor Watling, filmed for 9 weeks in Ireland, Belgium and Spain. It will release in Spain on December 1, 2017 First Look. Featurette. |

It's funny that people dislike Genesis so much, because it's closer to the original Rec than part 2 and Apocalypse. Those two go with the parasitic infection while 1 and 3 focus on demonic possession.

I loved REC, Fragile, and To Let. I really liked Darkness and REC 2.
Haven't seen the rest of his stuff, but the above is enough to get me go into this one nearly blind (having only seen the posters in the OP). |

His thriller Sleep Tight was excellent and showed that between him and his [REC] directing partner Paco Plaza, Jaume Balagueró was the more talented one. [REC] was a concept that had to run out of steam eventually, at least they pulled one good sequel out of the hat, which is more than many horror franchises manage.
