FOXCATCHER Steelbook: Fullslip (Type A)

Apart from the Embroidered Patch on the front cover, you're looking at printed images of texts and logos that appear to be a series of real patches. We've achieved this by scanning a real high-resolution patch then converting it to digital files. We've also implemented partial silk etching coating, meaning it will make a fun and appropriate sound when you touch it.

For the background, we've gone with a sportswear texture. German soft coating film was used for the paper which costs 5 times that of a typical matte finish. You'll be surprised at the softness. It's also good with minimal scratches that may be caused by fingernails, etc. Same with fingerprints.

We highly recommend that you take off the shrink wrap and experience the finishing touches we've made to the product.

Thank you

[Show spoiler]New SteelBook announcement from Plain!
https://www.facebook.com/PlainArchiv...e=1&permPage=1

From FB:

Quote:
We are thrilled to announce one of our 2015 Exclusive Steelbook releases: Foxcatcher. Most of you probably have not seen this movie yet due to its limited release.

At the 2014 Cannes Film Festival, Bennett Miller won the Best Director Award and the three main leads –– Steve Carell, Channing Tatum, and mark Ruffalo have all garnered attention for their performances.

This is without a doubt, our most ambitious project of 2015 right next to Oldboy.

Synopsis : Olympic Gold Medal-winning wrestler Mark Schultz (Channing Tatum) is struggling in obscurity and poverty in Wisconsin when he is invited by wealthy heir John du Pont (Steve Carell) to move on to his lavish estate to form a team and to train for the 1988 Seoul Olympics. Schultz seizes the opportunity, eager to step out of the shadow of his revered older brother Dave (Mark Ruffalo), a prominent wrestling coach and Gold Medal winner himself.

With his vast financial resources and state-of-the-art training facility at Foxcatcher Farm, du Pont appoints himself head coach of the team, eager to win the respect of his peers and the approval of his condemning mother (Vanessa Redgrave).

The dynamic between Schultz and du Pont deepens as Mark embraces his benefactor as a father figure. But du Pont's mercurial personality and psychological gameplay begins to weigh heavily on Mark's shaky self-esteem, undermining his abilities on the mat. When du Pont's favoritism shifts to brother Dave - who possesses the authority and confidence both he and Mark lack - the trio is propelled towards a tragedy no one could have foreseen.

From Academy Award® nominee Bennett Miller (CAPOTE, MONEYBALL) comes a searing true-life account of three men grappling for their versions of the American Dream.

This just opened up at my local theater so will be checking this out soon. Interesting choice by PA considering the other recent movies available but I'm sure I'll end up picking it up.

The story is pretty incredible, I read about it a few years back and remember thinking that it would make a great film. The cast seems a bit odd, but I think Carell is a fantastic dramatic actor that doesn't get nearly enough credit. Can't wait to watch this one.

It's been playing here in L.A. for awhile but hasn't caught my interest. Anybody recommend it? Now Birdman would have been a great choice for Plain Archive, excellent movie. Hopefully, they'll consider releasing a steelbook of that one later this year.

I too wanted to catch it at TIFF, had a ticket for it even but then went to see another movie called 99 Homes with Andrew Garfield instead, that doesn't even have a release date yet lol

It's a very dark and methodically paced character study of two deeply disturbed individuals (Carrel and Tatum, the latter of whom is surprisingly fantastic). Based on a true story that apparently most people don't know about because I heard very loud gasps in the theater during the ending, which I figured most people would already know. It's not a movie for everyone - it's a little pretentious - but it's well acted and has a lot going on beneath the surface. Worth at least one watch.

Yes, I would recommend to anyone that's interested in watching this to not look up any of the news articles about it. It'll be much better if it's a total blind watch imo.

I don't even recall seeing that one on the list, was Garfield at the screening? I need to go look that up now, surprised it got past me.

Yep Garfield and Shannon were both there. I saw it at that screening and personally I don't think you missed much.
