Wim Wenders keeps making films in 3D, which I must applaud, so it's a real shame that they are so badly treated by English-language hating licensors/distributors.
The licensors of Wenders' last 3D movie (Every Thing Will Be Fine) worked really hard to cripple every 3D blu ray release with huge forced subtitles. They even made Warners do it. I therefore don't hold out any hope for this one, also out from Warners: https://www.amazon.de/Die-schönen-T...-8&keywords=3d Going by imdb (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4715652/?ref_=ttrel_rel_tt) it looks like the film features multiple languages so I fully expect the German disc not to be English-friendly, and it probably won't get any other 3D release anywhere outside of France, no doubt also through an English-hating distributor. A shame. ![]() Last edited by the13thman; 01-17-2017 at 12:04 PM. Reason: added picture link |

![]() Variety describes it as Quote:
It's adapted from a stage play, it doesn't sound like there are many changes of scenery. Certainly doesn't look to be aimed at those looking for action and excitement, probably best taken in when in a leisurely reflective mood. Might be an interesting change of pace. I'll definitely give it a chance. |

I love native 3D, but this movie looks bad. Wasn't a big fan of Benoît Debie's passable, but flat 3D in Love or Every Thing Will Be Fine either. Too bad Wenders seems to have soured on 3D after these two critical failures. I'd love to see something as beautiful as Paris, Texas lensed with creative help from a good stereographer. Hopefully his new one, Submergence (2D), will help him get back with better scripts and larger productions.
