It's A Wonderful Knife

I just got back from seeing this Christmas slasher presented by Shudder. It is playing in theaters for a week before going to Shudder closer to Christmas. We have been getting some of these this year with Children of the Corn being another one. I like this as I get to see horror films that wouldn't normally play in theaters.

The film is a slasher take on It's A Wonderful Life and its pretty good. There's a nice amount of blood and carnage and I liked the characters. I love the design of the killer despite the fact that it would be very impractical. The problem I had with the film was it moved way too fast. I have never seen a film that sprinted to the end the way this film does. I don't think any scene lasts for more than five minutes. This means that we don't really get too many scenes with characters we are supposed to know well. Everything feels very rushed. I did like the film. I had a lot of fun with it but I actually wished it had been a bit longer allowing scenes and characters to breathe.

I would give the film three stars out of four. ***/****
