Oh man this news just made my day! This has become one of my top 5 Christmas films over the past 2 years and I've been so regretful that I didn't find out about it in time to pick up the TCM release. Getting to watch this in HD this year, along with the other wonderful Barbara Stanwyck Christmas movie Christmas in Connecticut, is going to be such a treat

Can anyone confirm whether this is MOD Pressed or MOD BD-R? Also, BB is listing with a digital copy and Universal has all five options listed on the site with only DVD available (as though there isn't a Blu release at all) so I'm wondering if that is just accidental bull and it is a BD only (or BD-R only). Thanks in advance for any information you can provide.

Universal MOD have all been pressed so far. I don't *think* they include DVDs, but I'm not 100% sure, I haven't bought any yet.

Thanks for the info. Hopefully it will be pressed. I'm still unclear on the digital situation, specifically, why the info sent to BB lists it as with a digital code when their own page states it is a DVD release (and they don't have any plans for a Blu-ray release). Sometimes Universal is as bad as Mill Creek on their official detail pages but at least MC lists Blus as Blus and DVDs as DVDs.

Watching this right now. Blu-ray is pressed. No Digital Copy. No DVD. Looks and sounds good; video bitrates are consistently in the 30’s.

Where the TCM had a couple of features that aren't must-haves, the new release has the better picture. We compared our old to the new and it does look better, when viewed on the same TV at our standard viewing distance. I found the improvement noticeable.

As to some of the misinformation.... For whatever reason, BB has been selling this listed with a digital copy. There is no digital code and no digital version available as of yet. For a time Az had a "-R" warning, but it is a pressed disc as stated previously.

It is going in and out of stock rapidly at BB and Az, because it is selling well and because they are producing it in smaller batches, as is standard for the MOD program, but being pressed discs with that better picture quality, makes them worth checking back for, until you can order a copy. The sound, to my ears, is the same.

Does this BD use the same transfer that's streaming on the Criterion Channel right now? Just watched it there and I was pretty impressed by the PQ.

I imagine it is since the BD is from the most recent restoration. You can see screenshots of the BD here to see if they match what you saw. Indicator also put out a nice release in the UK with plenty of extras.
