Gents,
Thanks in advance for any guidance. I have a Polk Surroundbar 50 which is a 5.1 passive soundbar. I have two wall mounted Front Presence speakers and two wall mounted Surround back speakers which gives me a 7.1.2 Atmos setup. I have a Polk PSW350 sub. I'm trying to get clearer dialogue. I've raised the level of the Center Channel to +7 on my Yamaha RX-2060 but I'm really confused about crossover settings. The soundbar manual says to use a crossover setting of 100 or 120hz. But I've heard that its best to keep it at 80hz. Here's my dumb question: If I lower the crossover to 80hz, does that send more bass signals to the sub? Or is that sending more bass signals to the soundbar and satellites? I'm guessing that I'll have clearer dialogue if the sub is taking care of most of the bass signals but I'm not sure whether I should increase the crossover frequency or decrease it order to accomplish this. Thanks again! |
