Apologies if this is in the wrong forum. You can contribute to a restoration and upcoming Blu-ray release of Manos: Hands of Fate here. They've already reached the $10,000 needed, but further contributions may lead to extras, including a surviving cast commentary track and restoration documentary. $50 gets you a copy of the Blu-ray, slated for an August 2012 release, and your name in the credits. Here are a few screenshots.

Never seen the film but am very familiar with it's reputation. I would love to have this on one end of my shelf along with The Good The Bad and The Ugly as kind of "bookends" of cinema i.e. the greatest film ever made on one end and arguably the worst film ever made on the other.
I would love to compare it to what I consider to be the worst films I've ever seen like Shaun of the Dead, Big Fish, Friday the 13th 2009 remake, The Ladykillers remake and O Brother Where Art Thou. |

Where is this getting released? Is it getting a proper pressing or is someone just going to burn it to a bunch of blank BD's and send it out with cheap printed stock? |

It does seem like an odd choice. Why anyone would be interested in owning a Manos Blu-ray is beyond me.

The guy found a pristine "director's cut" print of it, so he wants to preserve it and share it. I don't think anyone, not even he, will call this a good film. But I would sure buy a nice-looking copy of it - especially if he gets enough donations to create some new interviews.

Wow, this is terrible mate, I am not going to support this cause, even tho it sounds great to do something like this, but this, honestly it is not bad, it is unwatchable, terrible bad, no no no, again, good idea though.

The movie is probably terrible, I've never seen it so I can only speculate, but you people looking down your noses at the man putting this effort into the restoration absolutely disgust me. Is this the Criterion thread or is this thread filled with a bunch of Criterion slurping film "buffs"(snobs)?
I could really call some of you bashing the guy behind this restoration out for films in your collection just as you could for me but the point is, we all have movies and like movies that others consider terrible and it's bloody ridiculous that so many people look down their noses at others over something as trivial as a person's tastes in film. I call out Criterion fanboys especially because Criterion fanboys seem to make up the vast majority of people guilty of this and the fact that Criterion encourages that thought process in their fans doesn't help either.
