The film seems like it could be very quite interesting. Must try and give it a watch.

I bought this last week but haven't had a chance to watch it yet. Nice to read that the disc is good!

I blind-bought this and watched it today.

I must say it was really boring and eventless.

I love meditative nature movies, especially by Terrence Malick, but this one just has desert/bush, the girl, camels and a dog.
Nothing really happens. There is no tension.
How they thought this would make for a great movie is beyond me.
Maybe I wasn't in the right mindset. I liked Into the Wild and Wild, but this one was just tremendously boring.

PQ was a 4 (Couple of scenes with obvious macroblocking and banding, especially the campfire scenes)

AQ: 4 (Not a very immersive track in terms of surround activity.)

It had a slipcover, but there are tons of bloody rating logos, so it doesn't really help much. Lol

I hope you guys like it better.

Perhaps a 2nd watch will sway my opinion, but I am not sure if I will ever feel like watching it again.

Film: 2/5

Stumbled upon this one recently and looking to see if anyone else found it good or bad? I'd have to import it, but on the fence on this one.

I thought it was great. Ordered the blu-ray from Amazon.ca as there is only a DVD-R release in the US. Now I see there is a deluxe edition for Amazon Germany...

If you're into Australian films like Picnic At Hanging Rock, Where the Green Ants Dream, Walkabout, David Gulpilil films, etc. then you may enjoy it quite a bit... If you aren't into desert scenery and the outback then avoid it. It's also not anything like Wild or even Into the Wild really or most other mainstream back to nature films. It may have more in common with 127 Hours but minus the annoying James Franco and de-arming scenario...

Appreciate the nudge there Nuck. That's what I needed to add it to my cart. Just made a big amazon.de order so for 7.99eu for the special edition its too good a deal to pass up.

except for the action/drama.

That scene still haunts me to this day btw.. I love the movie, but I don't think I'll ever want to go through that again.

I see the listing here for the German Mediabook edition of Tracks shows that it has 2 cuts of the movie. Does anybody here own that particular edition that can confirm that?

A member here kindly looked into this for me and reported that there is only cut to the German Mediabook edition of Tracks (Spuren is the German title). So the listing here showing there are 2 cuts on this edition of the movie is incorrect. It does include a 2nd disc with 2 documentaries however.
