Unfortunately the contrast is crushed to bejesus and back and the encoding is shit. Worst of all, the entire soundtrack has been bastardized beyond belief.

I have the existing Blu-ray, as it's one of my dad's favorite movies. If they fix the issues (it's Mill Creek, so that's a roll of the dice), I might consider double dipping.

My guess would be that this will be, more or less, a straight reissue of the 2012 Blu-Ray, meaning no original soundtrack. The company that distributed the previous release, Anderson Merchandise, was acquired by Alchemy. Alchemy filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy shortly thereafter and already has been or is in the process of being liquidated.

I would not read too much into the "Restored and Remastered" language. Similar language was used for the previous release and it would be no less true if reused on this rerelease. They make no claims that this restoration / remastering is new or somehow different than the previous Blu-Ray.

I have already confirmed with MC that it is the exact same BD as before. The only difference is the inclusion of the MC logo and such. Even the initial packaging that MC was using in their adverts was pretty much identical, though they have obviously changed it for the final release. As for the original soundtrack, that will never, ever happen. There are too many legal hurdles to get that released and it likely wouldn't be possible at this point, due to the deterioration of the original materials and the lack of paperwork tied to the original film production.

Just a heads up, I bought this title thinking the Digital HD was viewable using any standard watch-all digital movie app. (Flister, VUDU, etc.), sorry to report you can only view the digital movie on Mill Creek Entertainment own website.
