Corsage (Vicky Krieps, Marie Kreutzer, March 2023)

Bit of a delay getting around to watching this but I thought it was excellent. Cast was 1st class. Who can't like a 19th Century costume drama with a guy singing a Kris Kristofferson song from 1970? There's a few anachronisms that are quite deliberate and don't take away anything from the film. A bit of fun although I think the director was maybe making a point about the impending doom of the Habsburgs and the collapse and reshaping of Europe. Maybe The film certainly shows us the path to WWI.

No extras. Few tiny bits on the US release but far better stuff on Youtube.


Picture looked amazing. Didn't like how the subtitles looked don't know if that was player related or they just messed up. Quick test of a stream they look great there.

I see Florian Teichtmeister the co-star (who was excellent -so I googled him as you do) got a 2 year suspended jail sentence -lucky he wasn't in the UK (unless he joined The Who obviously).

I wish they would stop putting star ratings on covers. Completely ruins a good artwork. I'm sure they don't even matter to people any more, and that a really beautiful-looking cover would sell more copies than some meaningless ratings and quotes.

I agree I think there was just a lot of space. I do like some elements of the US cover/poster (even more text but less brutal contrast and it looks like they changed the name of the film to STUNNING):



Odd that they defocused that finger I thought it was a bit of censorship but the US OS poster is the same.
