Does anyone have any additional info on the upcoming TT release of MR HOBBS TAKES A VACATION?

It is already out in Germany - wondering if the TT transfer has something to offer over the German one?

Also, the German release has some extra features:

(hopefully TT delivers in that area)

Often it is. e.g James Stewart attends premiere, that sort of thing.

I, too, am quite pleased with the German version. I can't imagine TT would add any other extras. I'd import the German version and save five or ten bucks, if I were you.

Even though I love Jimmy Stewart I'll have to pass on this one as personally I didn't care for it that much.

I would bet my last buck TT will add an isolated score, they have with everything else so far. Plus, while only a few of their releases have release in other regions, the ones that do all seem to use different transfers. If the German version is easy to get and staying in print, I'd recommend checking reviews of the TT first before deciding which to get. It might be worth extra few bucks after all.

Fox Movietone news, the news reels that used to get played before movies back in the 1930's-60's. Probably some behind the scenes puff piece in black and white with some hilariously bad narration.

I did a little research on the google machine and couldn't find a thing about this being Mort. It doesn't seem to be from the time the movie was released... maybe Mort did it recently.

If it's not Mort, its gotta be Torres or another one of Mr. Drucker's imitators.

I love the cover, and will buy anything with Jimmy Stewart. Mine is in the mail atm. Am interested to find out how the PA & AQ compares to the German release...

I don't have the German release but the TT release is pretty good. There are some specs in the beginning of the film but they are not distracting at all. The grain structure is nice and balanced, there was no digital scrubbing on this whatsoever. The audio is very good for one channel as well. Overall this is a excellent release for Jimmy Stewart fans. He is one of my favorite actors and the slowness of the releases is painful.

I just watched it tonight and I am in agreement. Overall very pleased. Very nice rich colours, excellent fine detail and nice depth of image (as you said nice balanced grain structure and no noticeable dnr). Audio was very good too, very robust and clear. Overall a great release for a wonderful film
