Now, you're going to have a plethora of people posting here that will recommend other players that have had their share of issues too. Don't let one person's "preference" distort what "you" want to do. Don't even let what I say about my 1400 differ you from what "you" want to do. Every BP has had its issues and I could post link upon link to show you that from other threads on this site... but I won't. But, if you're staying with Samsung, do not spend money on the 1000. It is "the" most problematic player that Samsung put out (First Generation) Last edited by Edh63; 01-07-2008 at 03:56 PM. |

at one time I had 4 BD-P1000's. They are 1st Gen players...a lot of problems, the picture quality is the worst out. Sold all 4 of them to one guy for $150 each. They were all mint. I upgraded to 2 Samsung 1400's and 2 Panasonic BD30's....and yes I also have a PS3 myself (used for games only). But I agree with everyone else. If you want to stick with Samsung, get the 1400 or if you can afford it, get the Panasonic BD30 or PS3...both better than the Samsung players....without a doubt.

I too just bought the BD-P1000 a couple of days ago. After reading all the stuff that has been said on this site about it and the 1200, im seriously considering returning it!
Hey, if you dont mind me asking ... how much did you pay for your BDP1000? |

I don't have a problem with mine. Yet, but mine is the UK version so I don't know if that makes a difference. If you want a HD player that isn't a rip off look at the HDDVD Toshiba EP35. If you want to go blu-ray then I would probably recommend the PS3, seems like the best value for money if you like to play games occasionally. Another option (something I did) was to look in the elctrical stores and see what 'last in line models' they had. Picked up the BD-P1000 for half it's price). I refuse to pay twice as much for a player that does the same as a HDDVD player! Good luck.
