No point in seeing the movie, really, after watching that trailer. Everything seems to be in it.

No doubt I'll be watching this, looking at the director and cast. But I stopped that trailer halfway through. Telling too much.

Oscar buzz for Queen Tatiana?

Quote:
Maslany's performance resembles Amy Adams' in "The Fighter," who also played an outsider trying to fit in with the dysfunctional Ward family as she falls for boxer "Irish" Micky Wars (Mark Wahlberg). The role garnered Adams a best supporting actress nomination. Maslany is worthy of the same attention.

Stronger was good, not great. I think it suffers from an out acting problem. Tatiana Maslany is so fabulous and authentic that all the other actors fail to keep up. Even Jake G wasn't as impressive as reviews are stating. I didn't see his character come through, I saw Jake G the actor as a guy without legs. The movie just dragged when Maslany wasn't on screen pouring out her heart and soul. Gotta go with a B grade.

Maslany deserves a much bigger career!

I have to disagree with you Underworld; I found this to be an exceptional film grounded in reality and exceptionally moving.

5/5 for me.

Both Jake and Tatiana deserve every nomination possible for these roles and I really think Jake brought his A+++ game here. He’s severely underrated and is long overdue to finally get his shine.

Bring the tissues because I was in tears for a good half of the film. It doesn’t hold back, it’s unrelenting in its honesty and that’s where it truly succeeds.

Honestly, I was only moved by Tatiana. I'm going to have to watch it again, maybe I wasn't in the right frame of mind for it. Glad we at least agree on Tatiana.

Just saw this and Wow!!

2nd best movie of the year behind The Big Sick.

Maslany and Gyllenhaal should get nominations, as should the script... and the director!!

I have been VERY critical of David Gordon Green's comedies, i have found them ALL to be super bland, including Pineapple Express... perhaps Drama is his forte cuz this was a hell of a movie!

I read an article today that listed Maslany as a frontrunner. I hope it comes to be.
