Default Terrible Sequels being ignored and redone.....

Wow. Right on the heels of announcing another sequel to Halloween, which seems to be completely ignoring anything past part 2 in the Halloween filmography.....

....James Cameron just announced that the upcoming Terminator sequel will ALSO be a direct sequel to the first two films and will completely ignore the other Terminator films in the filmography. “This is a continuation of the story from ‘Terminator 1’ and ‘Terminator 2,’ Cameron says. “And we’re pretending the other films were a bad dream. Or an alternate timeline, which is permissible in our multi-verse.” It’s not surprising — in fact, it more or less backs up what Arnold Schwarzenegger said recently about ‘Genisys’ essentially being ignored, a shame for the one person who wanted to know how that film’s cliffhanger would be resolved.

This seems to be a habit with Hollywood....running a franchise into the ground and then all of a sudden...BAM....the whole franchise is complete crap, except the original and MAYBE part 2, so we're redoing it all and pretending nothing else exists. I guess if the films really ARE crap, then maybe fans of the original can be happy to HOPEFULLY get a worthy sequel.

What do YOU think about all these films franchise saga's ignoring several sequels and going with a whole new reboot?

I mean, in MY minds eye, there are SEVERAL sequels that ALREADY simply no longer exist: Rocky 5, Jaws 3 & 4, anything past Amityville Horror 2, Cars 2, The Karate Kid 4, Psycho 4, and SO many more.

What Films Franchise would YOU like to see be remade? What Sequels deserve to be erased from our memories?
