Default Dolbly Vision Player

Besides the Oppo (already tried the LG very loud) are there any other players coming out in the next few months? If not I'll just purchase the Oppo. Thank you for your response.

The Philips BDP7502 just came out and is supposed to get a Dolby Vision firmware update sometime in the future.

And there's also the Cambridge CXUHD based on the Oppos.

I would wait for the 2018 models. Most should have Dolby Vision by then

I have an Xbox One S, and I have been thinking about getting rid of it to get a DV player as well. I have thought about the Oppo, but just can't convince myself to spend on that much.

We should start hearing about 2018 player models soon, and by CES in early January should know about all features for next year.

Will the 2018 players be any better than the Oppo? What do you think the prices will be for the 2018 players? Thanks again.

Doubt they will be better, but lower cost players may have more options than this years lower cost players.

None of the big players will be releasing anything next year that can top the 203. Oppo is a niche product that the large tech corps dont want, or need to compete with. There entire business strategy is lowering price while improving quality, but always staying in the middle of that equation. Where as Oppos strategy is to make the best player possible, price be damned. That said, the 2018 models from the big guys will no doubt be better, and id bet at least a handful have dolby. But yeah, they wont be oppo.

Hopefully LG would do a lot better with their next player or Sony add Dolby Vision to their players in 2018.

Clearly Samsung won't unless more Dolby vision content becomes available and forces their hand but it would be nice if Samsung did choose to only support Dolby Vision in their UHD players.

If Sony can release a player that can do both hdr and dolby vision. Do two two hdmi outputs. Have the Sony Ultra 4k app built in and all the other apps to do hdr, dolby vision, dolby atomos, and dtsx. That would make me a happy camper
