Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Appreciation Thread

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was born April 18 1987. She has been a Victoria Secret's Angel. She has also starred in a couple of movies, Transformers: Dark of the Moon and George Millers's 2015 Mad Max: Fury Road.

worst part about Transformers: Dark of the Moon and it's not even close

she has as much acting talent as a cardboard box and half the screen presence. She epitomizes hollywood's problem with casting models as eye candy when they don't think a character matters.

She was also the worst part of Fury Road, an otherwise fantastic movie.

Like I care. And Transformers: Dark of the Moon had MUCH more serious problems than Rosie. Much, much more serious.

she is literally the worst thing in that movie, and I consider it the worst Transformers movie. He's no small part of that assessment.

I dont find her even remotely attractive. her face is usually in constant beeyotch-face mode and thats very unappealing.
SHe made me wish Megan Fox had come back for Transformers III

ETA: Also, keep in mind that unless you're a VS Angel (which of course she was, but isn't anymore) you don't smile in shoots or on the runway. Models just don't smile. Now, of course, at the VSFS there's smiling left and right -- but that's it's own thing, a separate sort of event from something like NY Fashion Week or whatever.

Plus, I rarely find her expression *****y. It's just your standard, every day model look.

Edit: I liked Rosie in Transformers DotM. She was a bright spot in an otherwise murky affair. Any problem that could be had with her, I don't have a problem with her, is not even her fault. She was cast at the very last minute and thrust into the deep end to take a spot that was vacated just a few days before. She acquitted herself well and received compliments from her cast mates and the crew. So I do appreciate her. Not just for her beauty, but for her endearing personality.

Yep. It was her first movie, and she had like two weeks to get ready. She talks about it in that interview I posted above.

The better question is, why did they choose her, someone with no experience whatsoever? I mean, obviously she's gorgeous and has a great personality. But I'm sure they could have found someone who was an actual actress. Very strange decision.

"OK, we've got like 12 days until we need to start shooting, and we have no female lead. Let's pick this model who's never been in a movie before!"

Megan had no real experience prior to the first Transformers, and she has subsequently had to bury whatever hatchet she had with Bay in order to even make an attempt at getting herself back on a successful career track. Bay had worked with Victoria's Secret, so maybe that's the inroad there? He had shot some commercials for them and he placed their stuff in his movies so Rosie was yet another way to get more product placement opportunities for them? Maybe. Heck, VS even shot a special commercial congratulating her on her hiring and telling her to "Go get 'em Rosie!" She's good though, but it's also kind of obviously a ploy for showing Megan Fox that "hey honey you think you're all that, but guess what? We can get any hot chick from anywhere in the world to take your place and the movie will still make a sh*t ton of money." They were right of course. It's the weakest to me, but it still killed it at the BO and Rosie is a sweet little diversion for me.

I wouldn't call it that. More like speculations. Seriously, I can't even pretend to know the true motivations behind the decisions that others make so… I don't have that kind of insight.

Well, the studio too. They had to sign off on it. With as much money riding on those films as Paramount had they had to have say in the final casting too. Well, then again, Michael Bay had already proven two times prior that he had his finger squarely on the pulse of what the public wanted and made a sh*t ton of money for them so they probably just told him "do whatever you want Michael."
