Can anyone in New Zealand confirm that the Steelbook and Triple Play versions are at JB Hi-Fi this week? So far they are not showing up on their website, so at this stage they might be Australian exclusives.. Also with the Avengers being a Disney distributed title, it will be interesting to know which version at all we will get, as quite often the case with Disney titles, we get the Single Disc editions.

Although the extras sound good, it doesn't really bother me as I never really watch extras anyway and am all about the film as long as the PQ and AQ are good. Will be getting this tomorrow when hopefully it will be on NZ shelves.

Does anyone here actually release titles early? I've never wanted to buy something on release day so I'm not sure if anyone would.

Doesn't matter though, I won't be buying this without the commentary so buying locally is off the table. I'm another one hoping Disney doesn't region lock this, but from what I can see they release both locked and region free discs so we'll just have to wait and see. Fingers crossed.

I remember a couple of years back JB NZ released Terminator: Salvation a few days earlier than release datet and have noticed they release smaller titles before tehir release date like Leon: The Professional

Several of the JB Hi Fi stores in my area in Perth (namely Joondalup, Whitfords City and Osborne Park) generally put up new releases on the Monday of the release week, rather than their actual release date.

I got a call from my Mum, who is in Wellington at the moment, and she said Whitcoulls, of all places, had the Steelbook (?), but some employee wouldn't sell it to her because it gets released tomorrow.

I've asked her to check the price tomorrow, seeing as Whitcoulls is a 'full retail' price store.

She is right out at Titahi Bay, and she didn't want to go all the way back into the city. She was in there the other day though, but didn't see it.

Hasn't been listed for about a week. Presumably out of stock and disappearing from stores quickly.

I noticed that last night, so I went to check out some of my local (Sydney) JBs today since they tend to put new releases out before the official release date.

The two I went to had it in stock. Not a lot though on the shelf (I'd say about 15 copies). They weren't grouped with the others in the new releases either and were put separately in the 3D Blu-ray section.

It's a nice looking release, but I hate the how the spine is a montage of the Avengers rather than text; it just looks off to me. The Triple Play slipcover is almost nicer because of that, except it has "Marvel's The Avengers" in the bottom right of the cover which looks really awkward.

Re: Special features. The back doesn't list a director's commentary, and I think one of the featurettes listed on the website description is missing too.

SFA special features (like 4 lame ones) on the BR disc. Only bought for 3D version though.

EDIT - saw the Disney rep in store, she was finishing setting things up. PLENTY in stock. Big W at Browns Plains in Brisbane btw.

Hi Mark, does it include the 'Building a Dream' feature on the 3D or 2D Blu-Ray? The press release talks about it, but it doesn't seem to be mentioned on the packaging.
