Question US trip: any good deals in B&M stores?

I have a short trip planned to the Washington DC area next weekend - I'm wondering if I'll be able to find any decent in-store deals for UHD/3D/steelbook titles while I'm there?

Just wanted to know generally what would be easy to find that might be cost a lot more to pick up/import from here?

I'll be going to the US next month and will also be looking for some US-only movies and deals. Too bad the week I'm going is the week before Black Friday! lol

On the plus side you won't get trampled by people trying to get a TV nobody would normally want

Depending on how many days your 'week before' starts, their promos/flyers start on Sundays, so Nov 19th should already start having decent deals.

You should check out the US thread "Movie and TV Deals". They regularly have store flyers for 1-2 weeks in advance.

I'll check out the flyers, thanks. The 4K versions of Spiderman/ASM, Logan, Martian, Magnificent Seven, Bourne series, Revenant, Lucy, are all on my wishlist

I cross border shop often and never really find deals due to the crappy dollar.
They are a bit cheaper but in the end, you don't save much.

What I do like is the US exclusives. Over the summer, I was able to order a good 3-4 movies at walmart.com (and arrange store pick up...you have to time it perfectly) for several movies from the Warner Archives.

I was down there a week ago and most movies were around the same prices but in US dollars (Best Buy, Target, Walmart), and the few sales I saw were negated by the exchange rate.

There may be specific sales that time out right, but in general in-store prices in the US are not very good. But if you can find something on-line where the shipping cost to Canada is generally prohibitive, you could ship it to your hotel, you might find some good deals that way.

Check out the Walmarts cause they have some exclusive 2/3 packs of UHD Blu-Rays. I grabbed the X-Men 3 pack(the last 3 X-Men movies) a couple of weeks ago....it was like $36ish US for the 3 movies.

Also, if you were able to get the stuff shipped, there's the 3 UHD for $50 offer on Amazon.com which has some titles like Pacific Rim, Mad Max, 3 of the Harry Potters, Sully, etc on it. You could always do a 30 day trial offer of Prime on the .com site if you had a place to ship it, that way it should arrive in time while your at your destination.

Also, download the Target Carthwheel app, as there's Blu-ray offers on there quite often. Last week they had a 20% off all movies offer on it.
